Integrated with the TP4056 / TC4056 charging IC and the DW01A Li-Ion battery protection IC, this module ensures your batteries are protected against overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits, making it a perfect choice for rechargeable battery applications.

Key Features:

  • Single-cell Lithium Battery Charging: Designed to charge one lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery.
  • Over-discharge Protection: Prevents the battery from discharging below 2.4V, ensuring the battery's longevity and safety.
  • Overcharge Protection: Automatically stops charging once the battery voltage reaches 4.2V to avoid overcharging.
  • Overcurrent and Short-circuit Protection: Automatically cuts off power when the discharge rate exceeds 3A or in the case of a short circuit.
  • Soft-start Protection: Limits inrush current to prevent damage to the module or battery.
  • Trickle Charge Feature: For batteries below 2.9V, a 130mA trickle charge current is used to safely bring the voltage up before switching to full current.

Protection Features:

  1. Over-discharge Protection:
    • Cuts output when the battery voltage drops below 2.4V.
    • Restores output once the battery voltage recharges above 3.0V.
    • Allows charging even during over-discharge through the parasitic diode of the FS8205A Dual MOSFET.
  2. Overcharge Protection:
    • Stops charging automatically when the battery reaches 4.2V, ensuring the battery does not overcharge.
  3. Overcurrent and Short-circuit Protection:
    • If the discharge rate exceeds 3A or if a short circuit occurs, the module cuts off the output to prevent damage.
  4. Trickle Charge:
    • Reconditions deeply discharged batteries by trickling a 130mA current until the voltage rises above 2.9V.
